QUEZON CITY—The EASL's inaugural home-and-away season will culminate at a neutral venue.
The Philippines was chosen as the host country of the league's final phase with the semifinals and the final taking place at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu from March 8-10.
This means Cebuano fans will get to see former NBA star Jeremy Lin in action for New Taipei next month in the EASL Final Four.
KBL Filipino imports Juan Gomez De Liano and Rhenz Abando could be in attendance as well for Seoul SK and Anyang, respectively.
“Cebu is an incredible venue for the first EASL Final Four. It has some of the most passionate basketball fans in the Philippines. The Hoops Dome is a great arena that will be packed with local and traveling fans. This is an amazing tourist destination – we are excited to showcase Cebu, including the magical resort island of Mactan, and the beautiful culture of the Philippines to our fans across the region,” EASL CEO Henry Kerins said.
“The Final Four is going to be a world-class sports entertainment experience.”
The inaugural champion will take home US$1 million, while the runner-up will win US$500,000, and the third placer will earn for the team US$250,000.
