BINAN--The Pablo Escobets-backed team in the PSL won its first game since moving its home base to San Pedro from Quezon City by whipping former cross-town rival Novaliches, 98-73, on Saturday night at the Alonte Sports Arena.

What was supposed to be the QC Derby in this city suddenly became a de facto home game for San Pedro when the location change was announced, and the team took advantage of technically playing at home by quickly pummeling Novaliches from the get-go, opening a 28-15 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The lead ballooned to as high as 30 points before San Pedro settled for the 25-point win.

Jomar Santos fired 23 points on 9-for-14 shooting with three rebounds and one assist for San Pedro, which moved up to 6-5.

Pari Llagas added 13 points on 6-for-9 field goals and seven rebounds.

Deo Timajo also put up 23 markers with five boards, two dimes, and four steals for Novaliches, which fell to 6-6.
