MANILA--Blackwater showed that its surprise hot start in the PBA Philippine Cup is not a fluke, dealing Converge a 90-78 beating on Wednesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The Bossing did most of the damage in the first half, racing to a 58-29 lead after 24 minutes of action.

They would stretch the lead to as high as 35, 70-35, midway through the third quarter and never looked back, although the FiberXers had a late run in the end to trim the gap to a more respectable one.

Christian David led the now 3-0 Blackwater squad with 16 points, five rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal.

Rey Suerte added 14 points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block.

Alec Stockton continued his recent hot run with 24 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals for Converge, but he could not keep the team from dropping to a 0-3 hole to start the conference.

Schonny Winston added 22 points, seven rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block off the bench.
