LAPU-LAPU CITY—The Seoul SK Knights were not fazed against the Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters as they spoiled Rhenz Abando’s homecoming with a 94-79 win in their EASL semifinal battle Friday night at the Hoops Dome here.
Abando, who just played in his second game back in all competitions following a scary fall resulting in an injury last year, scored 11 points in 20 minutes played in front of Filipino fans.
The SK Knights avenged last year’s EASL Finals loss against the Red Boosters in the process.
American import Jameel Warney led Seoul SK with an impressive stat line of 38 points, 16 rebounds, and 8 assists as the KBL MVP feasted all night long.
Robert Carter led Anyang with 21 points, 9 rebounds,
Seoul shot 54.3 percent (38/70) from the field as they picked apart the Red Boosters who had no answers on defense.
The Knights will face the winner of the New Taipei Kings-Chiba Jets game in the final on Sunday night still here at Hoops Dome, while up next for Abando and the Red Boosters will be the losing side of the said game to salvage a third-place finish.
