MANILA—Magnolia made a triumphant return to action after a long break from the PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals by adding more frustrations to Converge through a 106-75 rout in their PBA Philippine Cup game on Saturday night at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

The Hotshots pulled away for good from the FiberXers by outscoring them 29-19, in the second quarter and gradually extended their lead from there, reaching as high as 33 points in the fourth quarter.

Ian Sangalang led Magnolia, who looks to bounce back championship-wise after bowing to San Miguel last conference, with 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting, three rebounds, and one assist off the bench.

Jio Jalalon and Calvin Abueva each added 14 points.

Justin Arana made 17 points, six rebounds, and two assists for Converge, which dropped to 0-5 ahead of the All-Star break.
