MLBB: New-look MSC 2024 bares wildcard tourney slots

MANILA - Moonton Games, the developer of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), unveils more details on the upcoming MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2024 to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

For the first time, MSC will have a wild card stage, contested by eight teams, to determine the last squad to join the 16-team tournament, which will start on June 28.

The runner-up of the MSC China Qualifier, the MLBB Continental Championship (MCC) Season 3 runners-up from Eastern Europe and Central Asia, the MPL Latin America (MPL LATAM) Season 1 runner-up, the MPL Malaysia (MPL MY) Season 13 runners-up, and the MLBB Turkiye Championship (MTC) Season 3 runners-up will qualify for the event.

They will be joined by the champions of MLBB Champion Battles 2024 Spring Split from South Asia, the champions of the MSC Mongolian qualifier, and the winner of M Challenge Cup Season 3 representing the Mekong Region.

Main event tournament

The wildcard tournament winner will join the main tournament, which will see the top two teams of MPL Philippines Season 13, MPL Indonesia Season 13, and MPL MENA Season 5.

Champion teams of MPL MY Season 13, MPL Singapore Season 7, MPL Cambodia 2024 Spring Split, MPL LATAM Season 1, MTC Season 3, MCC Season 3, North America Challenger Tournament 2024 Spring Split, as well as MSC qualifiers for China and Myanmar, will complete the fray.

The MSC 2024 champions will get US$1 million of the record-high US$3 million prize pool, with the runners-up getting US$500 thousand.

All participating teams from the wildcard tournament will have a sure $36,000 in the bag, while all MSC main tournament qualified teams will have a sure $56,000 to take home.

MSC 2024 will be the first time to be held outside of Southeast Asia, and will be part of the larger Esports World Cup hosted by Saudi Arabia along with other esports titles.
