MANILA--Glenn Khobuntin made the play that mattered in the end for TNT as the team handed Terrafirma its first loss in the PBA Philippine Cup with a 100-97 win on Saturday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Khobuntin denied Juami Tiongson a chance to force overtime as Khobuntin blocked Tiongson's buzzer-beating three that could have forced overtime as the Tropang Giga prevailed despite the Dyip making things interesting in the clutch.
Jayson Castro made 23 points, one rebound, and two assists off the bench to lead TNT, which tied its victim at 2-1.
Khobuntin and Calvin Oftana each added 19 points with Oftana also grabbing 10 rebounds, while Henry Galinato had 17 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists off the bench.
Stephen Holt had 24 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and one steal, while Tiongson put up 21 points on four threes, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals as Terrafirma's best conference start since 2016 came to a screeching halt.
