QUEZON CITY—AP Bren wound up as the biggest winner of the Philippine Esports Awards after collecting six awards during the awarding ceremonies on Thursday night at the GT Toyota Auditorium.

Mainly influenced by ruling the M5 World Championship last December, the AJ Ponce-owned club dominated the major awards handed out during the Philippine Esports Awards.

Highlighting AP Bren's big win was the Esports Team of the Year award even as some of its key members won individual awards as well.

Midlaner Angelo Arcangel was named the overall Athlete of the Year, while EXP laner David Canon won the Mobile Athlete of the Year.

Head coach Francis Glindro was named Coach of the Year, while manager Jeff Victoriano was named the Esports Manager of the Year and the entire AP Bren club was also named the Esports Organization of the Year.

The M5 World Championship, whose grand finals between AP Bren and Onic Indonesia was attended by a sold-out crowd at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila, was named the Event of the Year, just one of four awards won by Moonton Games.

Mobile Legends Bang Bang was named the Esports Game of the Year, while Moonton regional PR manager Keith Medrano was named the Positive Influencer of the Year, beating a stacked nomination field led by actor Alden Richards.

Moonton would go on to win the Publisher of the Year award, a testament to how MLBB has quickly become the most popular esports title in the country.

Meanwhile, Mineski CEO Ronald Robins and former Tier One executive Alodia Quimbo were both given the Lifetime Achievement Award for their exemplary efforts in growing esports in the Philippines.
