MAKATI - Defending MPL Philippines and world champions AP.Bren keeps their undefeated streak alive as they escape a familiar foe in ECHO Saturday inside the Shooting Gallery Studios.
Coach Francis "Ducky" Glindro's men averted a potential comeback from the Orcas, as the Bees showed a dominant third game in under 13 minutes to clinch the series and deal ECHO their first loss of the season.
AP.Bren overcame a slow early game in Game 1 with Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno getting his hands on the objectives, including all three turtles.
However, ECHO's momentum went to a halt as Benedict "Bennyqt" Gonzales was left to defend the base while the rest of his teammates were taken down near the lord pit.
David "FlapTzy" Canon's Cici was named MVP of the match with three kills and nine assists while only falling twice, while Marco "Super Marco" Requitiano's signature Brody pick got a clean 3/0/8 KDA.
The Orcas came back to tie the series as Alston "Sanji" Pabico stepped up for the team, with his Vexana establishing three kills and eight assists in the 22-minute affair.
Bennyqt's gold lane Roger pick recorded an 8/0/4 KDA while leading all teams in gold per minute, limiting Super Marco's Brody's effect, taking him down four times.
ECHO's last-gasp lord take from KarlTzy sealed the deal for the Orcas, using it immediately to push into AP.Bren's exposed base.
However, AP.Bren dominated the third, with ECHO getting only a single turtle with Sanji's Valentina being answered by Angelo "Pheww" Arcangel's Faramis, falling down five times.
AP.Bren will meet ONIC to end the first half of the season, while ECHO will meet Blacklist International to end the Week 3 festivities.
