MAKATI - Defending champions AP.Bren pushes for their top-seed bid further as they sweep playoff hopefuls Minana EVOS to end their Week 5 campaign of MPL Philippines Season 13.
It was a statement win for the Bees, who grabbed their third straight win and established a three-point lead over the current top-two team ONIC Philippines.
Vincent "Pando" Unigo continued to play as the designated EXP roamer, with David "FlapTzy" Canon sitting out for the second series in a row.
It was Pando's cousin, Rowgien "Owgwen" Unigo who starred for the Bees in Game 1, getting a kill and seven assists with the Arlott for their 12-7 win.
Marco "Super Marco" Requitiano also has a great game for AP.Bren, went unscathed with five kills and three assists, while Kyle "KyleTzy" Sayson grabbed all major objectives in the 15-minute match.
Bees' skipper Angelo "Pheww" Arcangel stepped up for his team, with a surprise Odette pick being the MVP with two kills and an assist in a 3-2 low-scoring game for both sides.
With all five AP.Bren players dealing crowd-control damage, the team limited Minana EVOS' map presence, who only had Lance "LanceCy" Cunanan getting the kills with an Angela.
KyleTzy managed to grab all five major objectives, including two lords, helping the Bees' established a lead from the first minute, while only losing one turret in the process.
AP.Bren will next see Coach Brian "Panda" Lim and RSG Philippines on Saturday, while Minana EVOS will try to cause an upset as they will see ONIC Philippines to start Week 6 on Friday.
