MAKATI - The Sonics became "the one" in "thirteen and one."
ONIC Philippines pulls off a convincing win to end their MPL Philippines Season 13 first-half campaign on a high note as they end AP.Bren's 13-match win streak in all competitions Saturday in Week 4 Day 2 of the regular season.
It was a remarkable result for Coach Anthony "Ynot" Senedrin and the rest of the ONIC squad, who extended their win streak to six without conceding a single game.
AP.Bren's attempt to pull off a cheese strat with a midlaner Ruby in Angelo "Pheww" Arcangel went to naught as he fell five times in a 3-13 Game 1 loss to ONIC Philippines.
It was a masterful game from Jomeari "Escalera" delos Santos, whose Franco game earned him a game MVP with two kills and seven assists, while King 'K1NGKONG" Perez tallied 1/0/11 with the Fredrinn while getting all the major objectives.
The Bees' woes continued with an 8-13 loss in Game 2, as the Sonics' lineup clicked late as Frince "Super Frince" Ramirez' lord steal with the Vexana becoming the turning point for the latter.
It was Duane "Kelra" Pillas who led the charge for ONIC PH, with the Karrie dealing all six kills in the late game to finish at 6/2/1, while Jem "Jem" Lanojan made significant plays with the Terizla, finishing with five kills and four assists.
With the streak snapped, AP.Bren will enter the second half with a rematch against Blacklist International on Sunday, while ONIC PH will see fellow hard-hitter ECHO on the same day.
