MAKATI - Championship contenders ECHO Philippines solidify their upper bracket campaign as they clip RSG Philippines, two games to none, to seal their MPL Philippines Week 5 campaign Sunday.
It was a resounding performance from the Orcas, who swept their regular season head-to-head against the Raiders, with the former previously beating the former 2-1 last March 22.
Perennial star Karl Gabriel "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno shined in the first game, helping ECHO to secure Game 1 with a 15-7 score line.
The superstar jungler registered three kills and a game-high ten assists with the Fredrinn, while getting most of the objectives including two of three lords in under 19 minutes.
Clarense "Kusey" Camilo had a game to forget with four deaths and four assists with Roger while not getting any single kill.
ECHO continued their dominant display, getting a 14-3 rout of the Raiders, with the Orcas getting all the major objectives.
KarlTzy's surprise Guinevere pick proved to be effective for the men in purple, getting a 4/1/7 KDA while Alston "Sanji" Pabico's Vexana tallied three kills and eight assists.
Dylan "Light" Catipon's Chou and Nathanael "Nathzz" Estrologo became prime targets for the Orcas, with both Raider members getting five deaths each.
With the win, ECHO broke the tie between the two sides, now three points ahead while getting a 7-3 record and 22 points, with RSG staying at 4th with 19 points but slipping to 6-4.
ECHO will try to boost their top three chances as they will take TNC Pro Team on Friday, while RSG will see action on Saturday as they will take defending champs AP.Bren.
