BIÑAN—Biñan capped its two-game home stand to open its MPBL campaign with a resounding 72-53 win against Quezon City on Friday night at the Alonte Sports Arena.

The home side turned to its defense in the second quarter to rip the visitor, outscoring them 23-5, to take a 39-21 halftime lead.

Biñan's lead eventually ballooned to 30 points, 55-25, in the third quarter before QC somehow got its rhythm back in the fourth quarter to make the final margin a more respectable one.

Poypoy Actub led Biñan, now 2-0 in the standings, with 11 points, 10 in the first half, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal, while Pamboy Raymundo added 10 points, three rebounds, and three assists.

Biñan will play its next four games outside the Alonte Sports Arena, including road matches at Valenzuela on May 7 and Pangasinan on May 18, which could very likely be Marc Pingris' homecoming game.

Paeng Are led QC, which dropped to 2-2, with 11 points, three rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
