CAPAS—The run that combines the competitive nature of long-distance runs and getting a chance to see the beautiful scenery of New Clark City returns for a second installment this May 19, and this time, it will become more exciting as a full 42-kilometer marathon has been added.
Now known as the New Clark City Marathon, runners can once again run through the Sacobia River bridge along the Airport to New Clark City Access Road and finish at the New Clark City Athletic Complex, but this time, the race will start at the Filinvest Mimosa+ Acacia Park in Mabalacat and will also traverse the Clark International Airport before runners run the full ANAR highway route.
The 21-kilometer run remains for the second straight edition, but this time it will be a circuit race that will start and end at the NCC Athletic Complex and so do the shorter distance runs.
Runrio chief Rio De La Cruz said during the press launch of the New Clark City Marathon on Tuesday at the NCC Athletic Complex here that he looks to elevate sports tourism along the entire NCC, particularly showcasing the scenic beauty of this side of Tarlac, boosting this town's economy, exposing this town's culture more, and long-term impact.
The renowned running coach also said that runners who will join the marathon can avail of discounted overnight condominium unit rent at the NCC Athlete's Village.
De La Cruz also said that there is no need to worry about traveling to the Mimosa+ Acacia Park from the NCC Athlete's Village or going back to their hotels in Angeles and Mabalacat from the NCC as shuttle services will be provided for the runners to their billeting areas.
