MANILA - One Taguig FC continues to ride on their momentum as they deal a 5-0 beatdown of a struggling Philippine Army side Saturday inside the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

It is the third win for the newfound club, who have defeated Manila Montet and Philippine Air Force in their last two matches.

Tsukasa Shimomura opened the floodgates for One Taguig, scoring early as he converted a pass from Naoto Hiraishi on the right flank, beating four Army defenders in the second minute.

Hiraishi scored his own in the 12th minute, converting a long ball from Patrick Grogg, luring two Army defenders, and beating the keeper to give One Taguig a comfortable 2-0 lead.

John Robert Solen tried to clear the ball to the other side in the 15th minute but was dispossessed, with the ball going to Shimomura to put Taguig up 3-0.

Former Azkals U-23 star Yrick Gallantes passed the ball to national team teammate Patrick Grogg, who put two defenders on skates before finding Yannick Tuason who scored One Taguig's fourth goal in 21 minutes.

The Army defense woke up from there, not allowing any goals past them up to the end of the first half, with the score remaining at 4-0.

It wasn't until the 75th minute when One Taguig scored their final goal of the match, converting a set piece that saw Jordan Jarvis first before giving it to Milan Beghandom who put the goal to the back of the net.

One Taguig will try to get their fourth win in a row but against defending champions Kaya FC - Iloilo on April 27, while Army will see another formidable side in title contenders Stallion Laguna on the 28th.
