PBA: Phoenix spoils hot night from Justin Arana, Alec Stockton, keeps Converge winless

MAKATI—Phoenix withstood stellar performances from Justin Arana and Alec Stockton to add to Converge's woes in the PBA Philippine Cup with a 113-107 win on Friday night at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

The Fuel Masters broke a 50-all halftime deadlock by erupting for 36 points in the third quarter to open an 86-73 lead entering the fourth.

Behind Arana and Stockton, the FiberXers tried to will themselves back to the game in the final frame and were just within three, 103-100, with a little more than four minutes left.

However, Ken Tuffin helped Phoenix pull away as he scored seven of his team's next eight points to up the lead back to 11, 111-100, with 2:55 remaining, and the team never looked back from there.

Jason Perkins tallied 26 points on 10-of-15 shooting, 13 rebounds, and four assists to lead the Fuel Masters, who moved up to 2-4.

Ricci Rivero added 17 points, one rebound, two assists, and one steal off the bench, while Tuffin made 16 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

Arana finished with 32 points, 16 rebounds, three assists, and one block, while Stockton added 31 points, seven rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks for the FiberXers, who further slipped to 0-7.
