MAKATI--Smart Omega's decision to switch midlaners worked wonders as the club averted a first-round shutout in the MPL Philippines Season 13 by sweeping struggling TNC, 2-0, on Friday at the Shooting Gallery Studios.

Smart Omega opted to promote Jayson Alupit back to its main squad from its MDL PH quintet, and the move bore positive results in the first game as he went 2-0-10 as Faramis even as the club pounced on TNC in the mid-game to take the opener.

TNC had a better opening salvo in Game 2, but Smart Omega once again turned things around quickly to complete the sweep.

Both clubs ended their first round tied at 1-6, but Smart Omega, with four points, holds the tiebreaker at the moment and is now in seventh place with a full round of regular season action left.
