LAS PINAS--New name, still the same dominance.
Newly-rechristened Liquid Echo made quick work of RSG Philippines through a 3-0 sweep in the first upper bracket semifinals of the MPL Philippines Season 13 on Thursday night at the SM Southmall Events Hall.
Liquid Echo started the match slow as RSG PH, despite letting go of the first turtle, scored three kills to begin Game 1.
However, with Karl Nepomuceno, as Fredrinn, keeping on getting the objectives, Liquid Echo slowly recovered and eventually went for the jugular after securing the second Lord to eventually take the opener.
Liquid Echo then started Game 2 strong, scoring four kills against one from RSG PH and taking two of the three turtles.
RSG PH tried to mount a comeback after getting two consecutive kills, but Liquid Echo responded with four straight kills and the first Lord kill.
Despite losing the inhibitor turret at the bottom lane, RSG PH managed to defend its base and scored three kills before going for a late push at the middle lane and taking down the second-tier tower.
However, Liquid Echo won the second Lord and even scored four straight kills before eventually ending Game 2 just before the 15-minute mark.
Despite RSG PH having more kills, Game 3 started tight before Liquid Echo, despite losing the first Lord, scored four straight kills to begin their endgame dominance.
Liquid Echo then went on a 3-1 clash win to counter the Lord push at the top lane before eventually securing the second Lord to complete the sweep in just under 15 minutes.
Now assured of a podium finish, Liquid Echo will face the winner of the other upper bracket semifinals between Falcons AP Bren and Blacklist International in the upper bracket finals on Friday night.
Both Falcons AP Bren and Blacklist face off later Thursday.
