MAKATI--Magnolia became the third team to formally enter the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals after pipping Terrafirma, 108-100, on Friday night at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

The Hotshots pulled away within the final two minutes, going on a 9-0 run behind a huge layup from Ian Sangalang, five straight points from Mark Barroca, and two dagger free throws from Paul Lee to seal the win.

Sangalang led Magnolia, which moved up to 6-4, with 23 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, while Barroca added 21 points, five rebounds, four assists, and one steal.

Rafi Reavis played some sort of a vintage game as he chipped in 10 points on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting, 13 rebounds, and one steal.

Stephen Holt exploded for 32 points with four rebounds, eight assists, and one steal for Terrafirma, which will now have to wait if they can still enter the quarterfinals outright or will have to face NorthPort once more for the eighth seed as they fell to 5-6 to end the eliminations.
