MPL PH: Onic PH boosts Top 3 bid with sweep of TNC

MAKATI--Onic Philippines solidified its chances of making it to the MPL Philippines Playoffs upper bracket by sweeping also-ran TNC, 2-0, in a crucial Friday night showdown at the Shooting Gallery Studio.

Leaning on a four-hero combo of Terizla at the EXP Lane, Ling as the jungle, Roger at the Gold Lane, and Edith as the roamer, Onic PH imposed its mastery over TNC to score a huge win.

With Frince Ramirez playing as Kadita in Game 1, Onic PH made quick work of TNC to finish them off in barely 15 minutes of action.

TNC decided to ban Kadita in Game 2, forcing Ramirez to play Valentina, but King Perez's Ling took flight in Game 2, especially in the late game to complete the sweep in 22 minutes.

Onic PH moved up to 9-4 in the team standings, momentarily a half-game ahead of RSG Philippines, which will play Minana Evos later Friday, and a half-game behind Echo for second place.

Onic PH and Echo both have 28 points, but Echo has a match at hand.

Echo will play Blacklist International, and Onic PH will battle AP Bren on Saturday night.

TNC, meanwhile, slipped to 1-12 and will look to end their rough season on a high note against playoff-seeking Smart Omega also on Saturday night.
