MAKATI--Smart Omega Empress secured a place in the final of Silab: Road to MWI after sweeping Onic ZOL, 2-0, in the first semifinal on Friday night at the Shooting Gallery Studio.
Omega's experience in closing out games proved vital down the stretch as the club survived Onic's threats.
Onic came close to a comeback in Game 1 as they scored two Lord kills late and even had a nearly 14,000 net worth lead against Omega.
However, Omega's defense held forth, and after taking the seventh Lord, Onic lost steam and conceded the opener after a 33-minute marathon.
Onic had a good start in the quick rematch, but after scoring two Lord kills, Omega went aggressive in the end to seal the sweep.
Omega will play the winner of the other semifinals between TNCZ4 and Super Monching Female in the best-of-five finals on Sunday where the champion will clinch a spot in the Mobile Legends Bang Bang Women's Invitational.
TNCZ4 and SMFE will face off on Saturday.
