PASIG--On a special night, San Miguel inched closer to a rare elimination round sweep.
The Beermen continued their domination of the PBA Philippine Cup after ripping the Blackwater Bossing, 124-109, on Wednesday night at the PhilSports Arena.
With Arwind Santos, who had his jersey retired at halftime, in attendance, SMB pulled away in the fourth quarter, dropping 36 points on Blackwater, which remained in step with SMB for most of the contest.
CJ Perez led the now 10-0 Beermen with 26 points, five rebounds, five assists, and one steal.
Don Trollano added 25 points on 8-for-11 shooting including a near-flawless 6-of-7 three-point clip, two rebounds, one steal, and one block.
June Mar Fajardo, one of three members of SMB's "Death 5" still active, put up 21 points, 16 rebounds, one assist, and one block.
The Beermen can complete the 11-0 sweep of the eliminations if they beat the Meralco Bolts on Saturday night at the Batangas City Sports Coliseum.
James Kwekuteye and Troy Rosario each put up 15 points, while Christian David added 12 points, 13 rebounds, one assist, and one block for the Bossing, who fell to 3-7.
