TALISAY - Dynamic Herb Cebu continues their title quest by giving the visiting Manila Digger a 1-0 defeat inside Dynamic Herb Borromeo Sports Complex on Sunday.
Both teams tried to get ahead of the other but both defenses were solid for the first 45 minutes as they kept the game goalless at halftime.
The action picked up in the second half when Surinamese winger Zamoranho Ho-A-Tham lobbed a ball from outside the box that went straight to the net sending Yuya Kuriyama driving, giving Cebu a much-needed goal.
However, Cebu's several close attempts were denied by Manila Digger to keep the score at close range while Digger tried to get one back but was checked repeatedly.
With the win, Cebu kept their second spot in the table, just one point behind league leaders Kaya FC-Iloilo, while Digger settled in ninth place with 15 points.
Manila Digger will seek answers against a hapless Philippine Air Force squad next week, while Cebu will play host once more to bottom-dwelling Manila Monter next Sunday.
