QUEZON CITY--"The Kraken" is still the king of the PBA Philippine Cup.
June Mar Fajardo won the PBA-Nustar Resort Cebu Best Player of the Conference for the All-Filipino Conference as announced on Wednesday night before Game 4 of the conference finals between San Miguel and Meralco at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
It was a virtual landslide for the Beermen's prized center as he topped all the three factors that determined the BPC winner.
Fajardo ended up tied with NLEX guard Robert Bolick at number one in the statistical points with 472 SPs.
However, the reporters unanimously voted the 6-foot-10 beanpole as BPC for 514 points while he also got 25 first-place votes from the players for 114 more, finishing with exactly 1,100 points.
As a bonus, Nustar gave PHP50,000 to Fajardo, who captured his second consecutive BPC for the Philippine Cup and 10th overall.
Terrafirma's Stephen Holt was the surprise second-placer after totaling 651 points mainly due to a majority of second-place votes from the media.
Bolick ended up third with 641 points, while SMB's CJ Perez, despite getting many second-place votes from the players, finished fourth with 503.
Ginebra's Christian Standhardinger, who got the majority of third-place votes from the players, finished fifth with 476 points.
