MANILA - Loyola FC keep their top-ten status alive as they deliver a 4-1 beatdown against a struggling Mendiola FC side to end the Saturday Philippines Football League triple-header inside the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Longtime PFL player Kim Sung-min opened the scoring in the third minute as he was found by William Winter for a pass and the Korean chipped it past John Betanio to give Loyola the lead.

Mendiola mainstay Hamed Hajumahdi equalized for the Brave Men with a 25th-minute free kick goal that went past the Loyola wall, only for Kim to put Loyola back on top after three minutes.

From there, the Greywolves did not look back as William Winter converted a Jorrel Aristorenas pass to a goal as he sprinted with enough space and nailed the third goal past Betanio.

Substitute forward Rupert Baña, who came in the second half, did a Robert van Persie impersonation as Vincent Saludo sends him the ball inside the box for Baña to do a diving header one minute into extra time.

With the win, Loyola grabbed their fifth win and 16 points in total, keeping them at provisionally seventh place, while Mendiola grabbed their fourth loss in a row in 10 games.

Mendiola will seek for answers against United City next week, wile Loyola will test themselves against another top-half contender in One Taguig FC.
