MANILA--Vincent Unigo believes Falcons AP Bren will be in for a dogfight with three domestic league champions ahead of the newly-rechristened Mobile Legends Bang Bang Mid-Season Cup this July.
Unigo, also known as "Pando", believes that reigning MPL Philippines champion Liquid Echo, MPL Indonesia king Fnatic Onic Indonesia, and MPL Malaysia winner Selangor are the big threats for Falcons AP Bren if they want to snatch the MSC crown.
"Yung malalakas para sa amin, yung Top 1 ng Indonesia, yung Fnatic Onic, Top 1 ng Malaysia, yung SRG (Selangor Red Giants), tapos yung Top 1 ng Pilipinas, yung Liquid Echo," Unigo, Falcons AP Bren's backup EXP laner, said when he graced the Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum along with Moonton regional PR manager Keith Medrano on Tuesday at the PSC Conference Room inside the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
Pando even said that if given a chance, Falcons AP Bren would want another shot at Liquid Echo after they were swept in the MPL Philippines Grand Finals last month at the SM Southmall Events Hall in Las Pinas.
"Gusto rin namin silang talunin," said Unigo, who had to watch the grand finals from the sidelines as he yielded for Falcons AP Bren's main EXP laner David Canon.
An MPL Philippines finals rematch between Liquid Echo and Falcons AP Bren would have to wait, though, as they are both placed in Pot 1 of the MSC group draw, assuring that they will be placed in different groups during the preliminary round.
Also seeded in Pot 1 are Fnatic Onic ID, the reigning MSC champ back when it was still known as the MLBB Southeast Asian Cup, and Evos Glory.
SRG, the esports arm of Malaysian football powerhouse Selangor FC, is placed in Pot 2 along with the other qualified teams in the 16-club field.
