MANILA - It was raining in Manila, but with goals from Laguna.
Stallion Laguna returns to regular programming as they ship eight goals against cellar dwellers Philippine Air Force to continue their 2024 Philippines Football League campaign inside the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Both sides were finding their footing in the first 10 minutes, but the Air Force defense gave early as a 15-minute goal from Stephen Halm opened the scoring for the Stallions.
The Airmen's defense held on until the end of the first half, as Stallion initially felt the missing presence of Finn McDaniel, who was with the national team for the World Cup qualifiers.
However, Mexican mainstay Juan Trujillo put up a show as he scored four straight goals within 17 minutes, increasing the lead to 5-0 68 minutes into the game.
Substitute Magson Dourado added himself in the scorer's list as he slotted Stallion's sixth goal past Jan Rodney Tano, while compatriot Theo and Argentinian Cristian Ivanobski scored two more before the final whistle.
With the win, Stallion provisionally sits at the top of the table with 23 points but with two games more against Kaya-Iloilo and Davao Aguilas, while the Airmen conceded their fifth straight loss since their last win in April.
Stallion Laguna will see Tuloy FC in their next schedule, while Air Force will need to find answers against an inspired Don Bosco Garelli United side on the 16th,
