MANILA--Gilas Pilipinas remains the king of Southeast Asian youth basketball after its under-18 squad ruled the FIBA U18 Asia Cup SEABA Qualifiers with an 87-64 rout of Indonesia on Sunday night at the MABA Stadium in Kuala Lumpur.

A solid second-quarter defense once again dictated the story for Gilas as they held Indonesia to just nine points in the said period after another high-scoring first quarter.

Andy Gemao came just close to a triple-double as he exploded for 29 points and also tallied 12 rebounds and eight assists for Gilas, which went 3-0 in the SEABA tournament.

Cabs Cabonillas once again backstopped Gemao with 16 points on 5-of-7 field goals including 2-for-2 from long range, nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Cliffton Wijaya put up 12 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block for Indonesia, which fell to 2-1.

Both Gilas and Indonesia already qualified for the FIBA U18 Asia Cup following Saturday's results.
