MANILA--Justin Brownlee's Indonesian club Pelita Jaya booked a place in the IBL finals after repeating over Prawira Bandung, 90-77, in Game 2 of their semifinal affair on Saturday night at the Tangerang Indoor Stadium Sport Center.
Despite a quiet outing two nights after going clutch in Game 1, Brownlee got huge help from fellow imports James Dickey, KJ McDaniels, and top locals Andakara Dhyaksa and Anthony Beane to complete the sweep for Pelita Jaya.
Beane led Pelita Jaya, which outscored Prawira Bandung, 28-17, in the second quarter to pull away, with 26 points on 9-of-15 shooting and one rebound off the bench, while Dhyaksa added 15 points on 6-of-11 field goals, one rebound, one assist, and one steal.
McDaniels, who like Brownlee has played in the PBA, and Dickey each chipped in 14 markers on a night Ginebra's resident import was held to just five.
Brownlee, though, had a decent all-around game with four rebounds, five assists, and two steals.
Meanwhile, Satria Muda completed a huge semifinal upset against Dewa United with a 92-85 Game 2 win at the Dewa United Arena also in Tangerang.
Satria Muda completed a comeback in the fourth quarter, outscoring Dewa, 27-15, that canceled a 31-16 outburst by the latter in the third.
Reynaldo Zamora led Satria Muda with 28 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and five steals, while Abraham Grahita added 16 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals off the bench.
Jordan Adams fired 25 points with eight rebounds, eight assists, and one steal, while former Terrafirma and San Miguel import Lester Prosper added 21 points, five rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal for Dewa.
Tavario Miller chipped in 10 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and one steal.
With top-seeded Dewa now out of contention, second-seeded Pelita Jaya holds a homecourt edge against Satria Muda in the all-Jakarta finals beginning next week, although Pelita Jaya might still call the Tangerang Indoor Stadium Sport Center its home for the said series.
