MANILA--Homebois trounced Entity7, 3-1, in the wildcard phase finals of the MLBB Mid-Season Cup at the Boulevard Riyadh City on Sunday night, earning the Malaysian side the 16th and last spot in the tournament's group stages.

However, that would also mean Homebois will be grouped with reigning MPL Philippines champion Liquid Echo in Group C.

For Kenneth Barro, Liquid Echo is a familiar foe since he fought them from 2022 to 2023 as a member of Fnatic Onic Philippines.

However, knowing he entered the pro MLBB scene at a time Liquid Echo started becoming a championship contender not just locally but also internationally, Homebois' import gold laner is aware that it would take a lot to beat the Filipino club, tagged as among the favorites to rule the MSC.

Despite that, Barro, also known as "Nets", is optimistic his new club could deal Liquid Echo a huge stunner.

"Kaya naman namin. Siguro magre-ready kami ng doble or triple para sa Liquid Echo," Barro said after Homebois' wildcard finals win.

"Magda-dagdag kami ng effort. Siguro mga double or triple effort, and baka manalo kami sa Echo."

The 19-year-old wunderkind clarified, though, that they would do a similar approach to the other members of Group C, Team Spirit and Twisted Minds.

In fact, jungle player Muhammad Mohd Nor said that he wanted to get back at Team Spirit, formerly known as Deus Volt.

"The team that I want to meet the most is Team Spirit because I want revenge since we lost to them in M5," said Mohd Nor, also known as "Chibi".

Mohd Nor gets his wish granted quickly as Homebois and Team Spirit face off on Day 1 of the group stages at 7 p.m. Wednesday (Philippine Time).

Some expert projections suggest that the Homebois-Spirit match could decide which team takes the second seed in the group assuming Liquid Echo takes the top spot, although Twisted Minds is no pushover.

Homebois and Liquid Echo will only face off in the final day of the Group C matches on Friday.
