RIYADH - SRG has finished their story.
MPL Malaysia champions Selangor Red Giants complete the first half of their year undefeated as they deny Falcons AP.Bren to win the MLBB Mid Season Cup 2024 inside the Amazon Arena Sunday.
The Malaysian representatives needed seven games to complete their campaign and keep their unblemished streak to 20 matches, starting in March in MPL Malaysia Season 13.
It was a back-and-forth affair for the first four matches, starting with a Game 1 victory for the world champions as Angelo "Pheww" Arcangel's Julian sneaked to SRG's base during the lord fight in the 17th minute.
Selangor answered in Game 2 with a 15-minute win in Game 2, led by Muhammad Haqqullah "Sekys" bin Ahmad Shahrul Zaman's Ling's 4/2/7 KDA, as they crawled back from a 3-11 deficit from the mid-game.
Michael Angelo "KyleTzy" Sayson clapped back with the Ling in Game 3, leading Falcons AP.Bren to a 22-6 beatdown of SRG with a clean 11/0/7 performance.
Selangor tied the series once more in Game 4 as they had a dominant 18-4 showing against FCAP, with Sekys' Fanny tallying four kills and seven assists and Hazziq Danish "Stormie" Bin Mohamad Rizwan's Novaria getting 12 assists.
Coach Michael Angelo "Arcadia" Bocado's men secured the match point first as Muhammad Qayyum Ariffin "YumS" Bin Mohd Suhairi's Tigreal and John Vincent "Innocent" Banal's Harith punished FCAP with the Implosion - Zaman Force combo.
But it was Mark Genzon "Kramm" Rusiana's X.Borg 4/3/7 showing who took the MVP nod, while Marco "SuperMarco" Requitiano's 6/0/0 showing with the Roger.
SuperMarco became the hero of Game 6 as he contributed 11 of 14 total FCAP kills to dominate the match in 12 minutes, while Sekys' Hayabusa had a stinker, falling five times.
Kramm and Sekys's deadly Ruby and Alpha combo was the key in the final game as their dive composition, combined with Innocent's Roger punished FCAP, luring Rowgien "Owgwen" Unigo's Arlott and David Charles "FlapTzy" Canon's Terizla were unable to get control the three,
It was the first international trophy for Malaysian professional MLBB teams, bagging USD 1 million, while Falcons AP.Bren was denied the elusive MLBB top prize and going home with USD 500 thousand in cash prize.
