MAKATI - Fnatic ONIC Philippines started their MPL Philippines Season 14 campaign on a high note as they handed TNC Pro Team their second defeat on Saturday at the Green Sun Hotel.
The match marked the return of Borris "Brusko" Parro to the professional Filipino Mobile Legends scene after a one-season stint with the Indonesian outfit RRQ Hoshi.
FNOP secured the first game of the series with a swift sub-14 minute win, featuring the debut of Zhuxin in the pro scene for Frince "Super Frince" Ramirez, who notched four kills and six assists while only falling once.
TNC failed to secure a single major objective as King Cyric "K1NGKONG" Perez's Nolan led the charge, securing all three turtles and two lords. The entire FNOP squad took down all nine turrets without losing a single one of their own.
Newly-settled hedgehog Jann Kirk "Kirk" Gutierrez's Terizla made an impact for the team in the second game, scoring two kills and assisting in five more in the 11-6 beatdown of the Phoenix.
Duane "Kelra" Pillas' signature Harith pick was pivotal, with a 2/1/5 performance, while Brusko's Grock tallied three assists while absorbing the most damage for FNOP.
Salvick "Kouzen" Tolarba's Phoveus had a rough day with a 1/3/2 output, while Ken "Kzen" Pile's Roger managed to secure only one turtle among all the major objectives.
FNOP will face Blacklist International on Sunday to wrap up their Week 1 campaign, while TNC Pro Team will attempt to cause an upset against defending champs Team Liquid PH next Friday.
