MANILA—A grand parade awaits the Philippine team to the Paris Olympics in its return home following a successful conquest.
The Presidential Communications Office announced on Monday night that a "Heroes Parade" is set for Wednesday traversing various parts of this city.
The parade will begin just outside the Aliw Theater in Pasay and will pass through Vicente Sotto Street, Roxas Boulevard, Padre Burgos Avenue, Finance Road, Taft and Quirino Avenues, and Adriatico Street before it ends at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
The PCO clarified that the heroes' parade will be on Wednesday contrary to earlier rumors that it was set for Tuesday.
The Philippine team is expected to arrive on Tuesday afternoon and will quickly pay a visit to Malacañang for a courtesy call with President Bongbong Marcos.
Behind two golds from gymnast Carlos Yulo and bronzes from boxers Aira Villegas and Nesthy Petecio, the 2024 batch quickly overtook the 2021 team as the most successful Philippine Olympic team.
The Philippines finished 37th in the world, seventh in Asia, and for the second straight edition, number one in Southeast Asia.
