MAKATI - Team Liquid PH officially announced their entry into the Filipino Mobile Legends scene with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against RSG Philippines on Saturday at the Green Sun Hotel.
The Cavalry, formerly known as Echo, welcomed returning player John Darry "Irrad" Tuazon back to the MPL Philippines in a close series including a nail-biting Game 2.
The Raiders claimed the first win in under 15 minutes, thanks to the heroics of Clarense "Kusey" Camilo's Moskov, who recorded four kills and five assists.
Kusey's mid-to-late-game power spike came at the perfect time, displacing Liquid PH's divers, including a triple kill in the 10th minute, taking down Benedict "Bennyqt" Gonzales' Claude, Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno's Hayabusa, and Alston "Sanji" Pabico's Zhask.
Nathanael "Nathzz" Estrologo also contributed with four kills and seven assists, while Sanford "Sanford" Vinuya's Arlott suffered six deaths, the most among TLPH's quintet.
Bennyqt became Liquid's hero in Game 2, earning the MVP award with a flawless 3/0/1 performance using Roger.
The Seahorses' gold laner stayed one step ahead in the tie-clinching game, abandoning the lord clash in the 16th minute to focus on the exposed RSG base.
KarlTzy added three kills and four assists, while his Nolan dominated the objective stat sheet, securing all three turtles and the two lords for Liquid.
Dylan "Light" Catipon's Khufra was a non-factor in the series, managing only one assist while dying twice, and Irrad's Julian was taken down four times.
Liquid switched to championship mode in Game 3, dominating the stat sheet with 15 kills to RSG's three, while only losing two turrets in 14 minutes of gameplay.
Bennyqt's Karrie shined for the Cavalry with seven kills and four assists, while skipper Jaypee "Jaypee" dela Cruz's Jawhead assisted in all but one kill without dying even once.
Light's Chou struggled, with seven deaths and only two assists, while Nathzz's Yu Zhong became vulnerable in the late game, with Sanji's Zhask dealing significant damage to his dragon form.
Team Liquid will face TNC Pro Team next week, while coach Brian "Panda" Im's squad will look to bounce back against Aurora Gaming on Sunday.
