MANILA--John Tolentino missed out on his crack at making the Paris Olympics men's 110-meter hurdle semifinals outright after finishing sixth in his preliminary heat on Sunday at the Stade De France.

However, he will get the benefit of an added qualification option, which is winning the repechage round.

Cabang clocked in at 13.66 seconds, which after all five heats were played was outside the Top 18 cut-off for an outright semifinal spot.

Rachid Muratake of Japan won the heat at a time of 13.22 seconds, while Spain's Enrique Llopis was second at 13.28, and Brazil's Eduardo Rodrigues took the third spot at 13.37 to enter the semis outright.

The top three runners per heat will enter the semifinals outright as well as the three fastest times outside the Top 3 per heat.

With Cabang missing the cut on his first try, he will race again on Tuesday in the repechage round to clinch the last rides to the semifinals.
