MANILA--Terrafirma's bid in the PBA Governors' Cup underwent a plot twist with less than a week to go before the start of the conference as Brandon Edwards was replaced by the returning Antonio Hester as its import.

The league announced on Thursday through its website that the burly Hester will come on to take the place of Edwards, who suffered an ACL injury during the Dyip's Tuesday tune-up game against the Meralco Bolts as confirmed by team governor Bobby Rosales during the PBA board press conference the day after.

This will be Hester's third tour of duty in the PBA and second with Terrafirma as he was the team's import too during the 2022 Governors' Cup.

The following year, Magnolia tapped him to replace Eric McCree as its import for the same conference, but despite Hester's addition, the team fell in the quarterfinals to Meralco.

The Miami native last played for Prawira Bandung in the IBL, helping the team reach the semifinals before falling to eventual champion Pelita Jaya led by returning Ginebra import Justin Brownlee.

Hester now hopes that he could also bring the Dyip back to the playoffs after they made the Philippine Cup quarterfinals last season.

He will now join forces with Christian Standhardinger and Stanley Pringle to lead the team.

Terrafirma will begin its campaign on Wednesday night against Converge at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City
