PBA: Jhonard Clarito goes perfect as ROS clamps NLEX to take solo Group B lead

MANILA—Jhonard Clarito played a perfect game to lead Rain Or Shine to a 124-105 win against NLEX in their PBA Governors' Cup battle on Wednesday night at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Clarito went 9-of-9 from the field for 24 points which highlighted a solid all-around game that also saw him tally three rebounds, four assists, and five steals.

"Sinimulan namin sa practice na competitive lagi at saka yung ginawa namin sa ensayo, dinala namin sa laro," said Clarito, the recently named Most Improved Player.

Moreover, the Elasto Painters turned things around late in the second quarter, outscoring the Road Warriors, 34-9, within the final 9:39 of the period to take the lead after falling to a 21-point deficit early in the said quarter. 

ROS then pulled away for good in the second half after erupting for 33 more points on each of the last two quarters.

Gian Mamuyac added 22 points on 7-of-10 shooting, one rebound, six assists, and three steals for ROS, now on top of Group B with a 3-0 record.

Aaron Fuller tallied 21 points on 8-for-13 field goals, 20 rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

Robert Bolick fired 22 points, four rebounds, and seven assists, while Myke Henry added 21 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals for NLEX, which dropped its first loss of the season after back-to-back wins.
