PBA: Scotty Hopson hits 4-point winner as Converge stuns TNT

PARAÑAQUE—Scotty Hopson entered the PBA record books again on Tuesday night as his clutch shot led Converge to a 96-95 win against TNT at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Hopson became the first player to win the game outright through the new four-point shot, hitting the 27-footer with exactly four seconds left as the FiberXers completed a comeback from 16 points down to steal the win from the Tropang Giga.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, who hit seven straight points to keep TNT in control of the game, tried to win it at the buzzer, but Hopson's defense forced Hollis-Jefferson to botch the attempt.

Hopson, who earlier became the first player to finish the game perfect on fours against the Terrafirma Dyip, finished with 32 points on 2-of-3 shooting from way downtown, 10 rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block for the FiberXers, who tied their victims at 2-1.

Schonny Winston added 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Hollis-Jefferson also tallied 32 points along with 15 rebounds, six assists, two steals, and two blocks for the Tropang Giga, while Calvin Oftana added 22 points, 10 rebounds, one assist, and one block.
