MANILA - Six of the best for Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors as they started their AFC Champions League 2 campaign on a commanding note against Philippines Football League runners-up Cebu FC.
The Jeonju-based club fielded an all-Korean starting XI against the Cebu-based team, who then fielded nine foreign players.
18-year-old Jin Tae-ho opened the floodgates for Jeonbuk in the 15th minute, while 19-year-old Kim Chang-hun scored the second one where the K League side broke Cebu's defense.
Moon Seon-min continued the Jeonbuk goal fest before the half-time whistle as he converted a rebound off from Kim's shot.
Moon was again involved in the fourth goal for Jeonbuk, this time giving the ball to Park Jae-yong to send the ball past keeper Yusuf Cekic.
Yu Je-ho scored his first goal for Jeonbuk Hyundai with a 74th minute free kick, while substitute Park Chae-jun scored in the 77th minute off from a pass from Han Seok-jin.
Cebu tried six shots, four on target, but none went past Kim Jeong-hoon's guard, while Jeonbuk took 11 with eight on target.
The Gentle Giants will try to redeem themselves against Selangor FC in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia on October 3, while Jeonbuk will head back to Jeonju to take on Thai side Muangthong United.
