MANILA--Converge bounced back strongly in the second half to edge Magnolia, 89-82, in a rare Monday night PBA Governors' Cup meeting at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Down 41-50 at halftime, the FiberXers outscored the Hotshots, 32-18, in the third quarter to go up, 73-68, before holding them to only 14 points in the fourth.
Jalen Jones put up 27 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists for Converge, which clinched the third seed in the quarterfinals with the win, setting up a best-of-five series with San Miguel.
Justin Arana added 12 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
Calvin Abueva and Peter Alfaro each scored 11 points for Magnolia, which fell to the fourth seed with Rain Or Shine waiting for them in the quarterfinals.
Rayvonte Rice struggled in his PBA debut, only tallying five points on 2-of-14 shooting including 0-of-6 from deep, but he too had seven rebounds, three assists, and one block.
