MAKATI - Falcons AP.Bren needed three games to fend off a resilient TNC Pro Team to secure their sixth win of MPL Philippines Season 14 on Saturday.
The Hive survived a back-and-forth third game to overcome The Phoenix Army and avenge their loss to Fnatic ONIC Philippines last Sunday.
It was heartbreak for TNC in Game 1 as they were forced into a 25-minute battle, only for FCAP's minions to end the game.
Kyle "KyleTzy" Sayson's Roger led the Hive with eight kills and three assists, while Salvick "Kouzen" Tolarba's Karrie, despite delivering seven kills and three assists, could not prevent the loss.
Game 2 told a different story for TNC Pro Team, as they dominated the reigning world champions. Not a single TNC turret fell, while all of Falcons AP.Bren's towers were destroyed.
Jomearie "Escalera" delos Santos's Mathilda led the charge with a kill and a game-high 10 assists, while Kouzen's Claude contributed four kills and three assists.
In the decisive Game 3, both teams battled fiercely until Ken "Kzen" Pile's lord take tipped the scales, leading to an extended team fight that spelled the end for The Phoenix Army.
Angelo "Pheww" Arcangel's Lylia came up big for FCAP with a 2/1/6 KDA, while Rowgien "Owgwen" Unigo's crucial Noumenon Blast on Lolita helped secure a game-winning wipeout.
Falcons AP.Bren will face Aurora Gaming on Sunday, while TNC will have a critical match against RSG Philippines on the same day.
