MAKATI - Records are meant to be broken, and Fnatic ONIC Philippines just did.
FNOP broke Blacklist International Season 8 and Echo Season 12 record of 11 consecutive wins as they trip RSG Philippines, 2-0, to wrap their Week 7 campaign of the MPL Philippines Season 14 regular season.
The win also ensured FNOP the first seed in the playoffs as current second-seed Falcons AP.Bren can only manage a maximum of 11 points.
It was a repeat of their Week 4 meetup when Jann Kirk "Kirk" Gutierrez led the team in their 2-0 win.
Duane "Kelra" Pillas' signature Harith led the charge for the Hedgehogs as he delivered three kills and two assists while Frince "Super Frince" Martinez's Faramis delivered six assists.
Arvie "Aqua" Antonio's Yve had a bad day in office with two deaths and only one assists, while FNOP dominated the game from the get-go.
The prized gold laner delivered once as his Beatrix went berserk with five kills and an assist while only falling once as they completed the sweep with a close 16-13 outing.
It was a good start for the Raiders up until the 21st minute when Dylan "Light" Catipon's Gatotkaca's Avatar of the Guardian caught no one and prompted Fnatic ONIC to shoo away the rest of RSG and take the lord for themselves.
Fnatic ONIC will have a tougher Week 8 with games against Falcons AP.Bren and Smart Omega to end the regular season, while RSG will try to grab the final playoff spot with games against Smart Omega and Aurora Gaming.
