MAKATI—Reigning world champions Falcons AP.Bren boosted their upper bracket chances as they clipped Smart Omega, 2-1, Saturday inside the Green Sun Hotel.
The Hive made it even against the Barangay from their last meetup when Omega blew them 1-2 on their Season 14 debut with Andrew "Andoryuuu" Flora leading the way.
The Omega jungler once again led the team to their Game 1 victory with a 6/0/2 performance from Bane, while Jomarie "JOWM" Pingol's Moskov had a 1/0/6 performance.
It was not a good game for both Kyle "KyleTzy" Sayson and Rowgien "Owgwen" Unigo who fell three times each in a 1-9 blowout.
However, FCAP bounced back in game 2 with KyleTzy redeeming himself with a 10/1/6 with the Hayabusa and dominating the jungler battle against Andoryuuu.
It was a tight contest between the two sides with Omega toppling all but one turret from Falcons AP.Bren while a series of crucial kills to Andoryuuu and Nowee "Ryota" Macasa were enough to force Omega to defend to their demise.
FCAP enjoyed a faster decider game as they reign supreme from the start with nine turrets to Omega's one, as KyleTzy's Nolan dominated the jungler war.
But it was the surprise Nana pick from captain Angelo "Pheww" Arcangel that caught Omega off-guard, with the mage-support dishing three kills and two assists to grab the MVP honors.
With the win, Falcons AP.Bren went up to a 9-3 record while Omega Esports slid to 7-5 and found themselves in a three-team race with Aurora Gaming and Team Liquid PH.
