MAKATI--Defending champions Team Liquid PH booked their spot in the MPL Philippines Season 14 playoffs as they swept Blacklist International in two games in Week 7 of the regular season on Saturday at the Green Sun Hotel Ballroom.
It was a season sweep for the Cavalry as they repeated their matchup last September 1, where Sanford "Sanford" Vinuya led the charge for the powerhouse team.
Perennial star Karl Gabriel "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno was hailed the Game 1 MVP as his Hayabusa scored six kills and grabbed an assist in a 12-1 dominant showing from TLPH.
Alston "Sanji" Pabico and Jaypee "Jaypee" Dela Cruz combined for 12 assists as Blacklist only managed to grab a turret compared to Liquid's eight, and did not get their hands on a single turtle or lord.
The dominance continued in Game 2 as Team Liquid zeroed the Codebreakers while taking ten kills, and KarlTzy's Julian contributed to all but one kill score while taking all turtles and two lords of the game.
It was a bad day in the office for Michael "MP The King" Endino, who gave less total damage than roamer John "Perkz" Sumawan while falling thrice.
Both teams will meet the already-eliminated TNC Pro Team in their next match, with Blacklist playing them on Sunday while TLPH will see them next Saturday.
