MANILA--Meralco will enter the PBA Governors' Cup quarterfinals with their heads held high following a 124-82 blowout win against Terrafirma on Saturday night at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The Bolts quickly pulled away from the Dyip from start to finish even as Alvin Pasaol closed the game with back-to-back threes to set the largest margin at 42.
Pasaol finished with 21 points, eight rebounds, and one assist, while CJ Cansino added 15 points, two rebounds, three assists, and two steals for Meralco, which finished the group stages at 7-3.
The team will either play San Miguel or Ginebra in the quarterfinals depending on the result of the Sunday night battle between the Gin Kings and the NLEX Road Warriors at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Antonio Hester tallied 18 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists for Terrafirma, which ended its campaign in the season-opening conference with a dismal 1-9 record.
