LUMBAN--NorthPort guard John Amores was charged with an attempted homicide case by the Lumban-Kalayaan Municipal Circuit Trial Court after a shooting incident that took place in this town on Wednesday night.
Bob Ordiz, the municipal police chief here, confirmed to Dugout Philippines on Friday the resolution, saying that despite a recommendation of "attempted murder" for Amores' role in the shooting incident, the court's decision is already beyond their control.
The de facto "downgrading" could still count as a sigh of relief for the Pagsanjan-based guard, who as of Thursday was already facing attempted murder charges after aiming a gun at Lee Cacalda, a resident of Barangay Maytalang I here, just within sunset time on Wednesday after a basketball-related commotion.
The court order, though, said that Amores and his brother Red are only accused of "commencing the commission of the crime of homicide directly by overt acts, but nevertheless did not perform all the acts of execution which should have produced the crime of homicide, by reason or a cause, other than their own spontaneous desistance."
Ordiz also confirmed that John Amores can post bail of PHP24,000 while Red Amores' bail is set at PHP10,000, but as of posting, they have yet to settle the bills.
