MANILA—NLEX gets ready for a serious run in the second round of the PBA Governors' Cup group stages that could hopefully spill through the playoffs as it announced on Wednesday that it is acquiring Javee Mocon through a trade with Phoenix.

In a statement, the Road Warriors said that they are sending Ato Ular and a second-round pick for the PBA Season 51 Draft scheduled for 2026 to the Fuel Masters for them to get Mocon.

The trade papers have already been submitted to the PBA trade committee for evaluation.

Mocon still got to play on Tuesday night for Phoenix against Rain Or Shine, but he only played for barely over 13 minutes off the bench, tallying two points, two rebounds, and one steal in the 107-122 loss.

On the other hand, Ular is expected not to be in uniform later Wednesday as NLEX takes on San Miguel at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

“We are thankful for Ato’s time with NLEX. Although it was brief, he brought energy to our practices and games,” said Road Warriors team governor Ronald Dulatre.

“We wish him nothing but the best in his journey with Phoenix.”

If approved, Mocon may be activated for NLEX on Tuesday night when it takes on—interestingly enough—ROS also at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
