MANILA - The local Mobile Legends: Bang Bang scene is left in shock as Smart Omega announces the release of veteran multi-role player Carlito "Ribo" Ribo Jr. on their social media platforms Wednesday.
The esports club expressed gratitude to the 29-year-old, who spent three seasons with the team.
"Thank you for your outstanding performance to the team. Your passion will always leave a mark on us," Smart Omega said on their social media platforms.
Ribo, an MPL Philippines Hall of Legends inductee, joined Smart Omega after playing in the MDL. His last match was a losing effort against RSG Philippines on April 13.
Meanwhile, Smart Omega introduced a new rookie to their lineup—Bornok, the younger brother of Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog.
Though a newcomer to the professional scene, Bornok is no stranger to MLBB, having been with his brother since their days at Execration. He will reportedly play in the midlane, as per MPL Philippines' post.
It remains to be seen if Bornok will be fielded in the second half of the season. Smart Omega currently holds a 4-3 record and sits in 5th place.
