MANILA--Unless another unforeseen circumstance comes his way, Shabazz Muhammad should be cleared to finally play for Magnolia as it takes on Terrafirma in their PBA Governors' Cup game on Thursday night at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Muhammad, formerly of the San Miguel Beermen, begins his quest with sister team Hotshots as they look to add more woes to the winless Dyip at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Although he made the flight to Panabo, Muhammad was relegated to a spectator when Magnolia lost in their opening night rematch to Meralco.
As it turned out, the former NBA first-round pick failed to get his FIBA letter of clearance on time even as it was further revealed that he was supposed to play for Lebanese club Homenetmen before deciding to take the plane ride to the Philippines instead.
Now that he finally got his LOC, he can now suit up for the Hotshots on Thursday night.
For Magnolia, currently at 3-3, they need the win to remain in contention for a higher seed come the crossover quarterfinals.
For 0-6 Terrafirma, it's win-or-go-home from hereon now as another defeat will officially eliminate them from playoff contention.
The first game at 5 p.m. is equally exciting as Meralco and TNT will clash with the winner taking the solo top spot in Group A.
