MAKATI - Smart Omega finally breaks the glass ceiling as they secure a ticket to the MPL Philippines Season 14 playoffs after defeating a struggling TNC Pro Team side, two games to none.
The Barangay returned to the postseason after missing out last season when they only grabbed three victories and a measly 25 percent win rate in games played.
Midlaner Jayson "UK1R" Alupit led Smart Omega with his Zhask getting three kills and 10 assists as they dominated TNC with a 15-to-6 outing.
Andrew "Andoryuuu" Flora's Hayabusa did wonders with four kills and four assists while getting all lords and toppling down all nine turrets. while Christian "Heads" Morada's Chou fell six times while only assisting two.
The Phoenix Army had a great fightback, with Ken "Kzen" Pile's Nolan getting a 7/3/4 KDA and extending the game to under 20 minutes, while Salvick "Kouzen" Tolarba's Moskov hit his power spike in the middle of the game.
However, a crucial takedown of Kzen by UK1R's Zhask in the 18th minute spelled the end for TNC Pro Team which prompted them to grab the lord and force TNC to defend to their demise.
EXP laner Nowee "Ryota" Macasa's Arlott led the team to victory with three kills and 10 assists while only falling thrice.
Omega will have a tough final stretch ahead of them starting with a Saturday bout against Falcons AP.Bren, while TNC will try to get a win against Aurora Gaming.
